I proposed the use of AI avatars as an alternative to traditional studio shoots and led the effort to reimagine our production pipeline from the ground up. Working closely with the Education team, I transformed their written scripts into detailed audio/video breakdowns, streamlining communication between instructional design and production.

Previously, filming each course required two full days in-studio with a professor and teleprompter. With the new AI workflow, the professor now records a short reference video for HeyGen, which generates a lifelike avatar. The full “shoot” takes just one hour instead of two days, dramatically reducing production time and cost.

On the post-production side, generating footage with the AI avatar condensed what used to be a six-week editing and animation cycle into just two weeks, dramatically accelerating delivery timelines. By generating only the footage needed, we reduced manual review and editing while maintaining quality and consistency.

The AI avatars also enable us to update our videos monthly, ensuring learners receive the most current and relevant content as AI and technology evolve.

The result is a new, scalable model for producing educational video content—faster, more flexible, and cost-efficient, without losing the storytelling craft or human touch that define our brand.
